On June 19th Jonathan sets off on his 54 mile voyage – from London’s Clapham Common all the way to Brighton (on his trusty Raleigh!) – raising funds for the British Heart Foundation!

In the blistering heat of the height of our great British summer (allegedly!), Jonathan will be completing a 54 mile journey as a way of giving something back. Says the man himself: ‘I completed the event before in my younger and fitter days, but decided to come out of retirement this year and am busy right now getting into shape’.

And Jonathan’s fundraising for a cause close to home – as he explains, ‘my brother-in-law at only forty-five just had a triple by-pass operation and having witnessed the amazing care he has received and the unbelievably quick recovery, it’s clear that the research made possible by fundraising is critical to ongoing improvement in prevention and treatment of heart disease’.

The British Heart Foundation’s research has shown that in the UK alone, someone is struck by a heart attack every three minutes – with 30% of those proving fatal. The charity exists to support people like Jonathan’s brother-in-law, working towards their vision of a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from heart disease.

It’s a cause close to all of our hearts. Best of luck, Jonathan!

Jonathan, who will be joined by his sister, had looked to raise over £500 for the cause – and has already smashed that target! Help them to achieve even more, by sponsoring him here: www.justgiving.com/Jonathan-King2016
