Rob Gibbons (bottom) enjoying his skydive for charity

Client Area Service Manager, Rob Gibbons recently had a more than usual daredevil weekend.

A long standing acquaintance, now working for The Children’s Trust, got in touch with Rob and asked if he would be willing to take part in a skydive to raise money for the charity. Without (too much) hesitation, he kindly agreed and on 17th May jumped out of a plane from 10,000ft, by doing so raising nearly £600 to help this much deserving cause.

Rob says: “During the lead up to the skydive, I have to say I started asking myself why I had agreed to jump from a plane. Knowing what fantastic work The Children’s Trust does for children with brain injury and having grandchildren of my own spurred me on.

“I am extremely grateful for everyone who donated and the team at Regent Samsic have been very generous.” On whether Rob enjoyed the experience he commented: “The first part, plummeting 120mph towards the ground was exhilarating, however when our parachute opened we ended up back in a cloud and started spinning as well as not being able to see anything, which wasn’t great for the nerves!”

Glad to be on firm ground once again, Rob hasn’t completely ruled out jump number 2……
