Three one day Health & Safety training courses attended by all directors, managers and support staff were held at the company’s own Training Academy.

As part of Regent Samsic’s strive to go beyond best practice, the health and safety training, delivered by Peter Ford, the company’s Health and Safety Adviser and Bozena Wojciechowska, HR Director, was provided to ensure Regent Samsic personnel understand theirs and the company’s responsibility to health and safety; as well as to promote the company’s safety culture to new joiners.

Topics covered included: awareness of company procedures, law, legal and moral obligations, how to ensure safe working methods, understanding accident investigation and reporting, issue of the latest company health and safety manual and the requirements of training and documentation.

Bozena Wojciechowska commented: “We are extremely proud of our health and safety record and the accolades that we have achieved, such as the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award. To ensure we continue to deliver best practice across all our contracts, it is essential that our teams are continually kept up to date with the latest developments in regards health and safety matters and fully understand the duty of care we have to staff, clients and each other.

“We have full confidence in our people, robust procedures and policies and to further demonstrate this we are currently in the process of applying for OHSAS 18001status, which we plan to achieve in 2015.”
